Marta
was born in Poland and moved with her family to New York City when she
was 6 years old. Her love for the Arts came from her father, who
was a musician in his native country and an architectural
designer/artist. By age 10,
Marta began painting landscapes and drawing realistic portraits of
friends and family. She worked
hard to refine her
drawing skills and entered several art contests winning
multiple awards.
In
1991 Marta moved to New
Jersey. While attending high school she studied Art History and
was enrolled in several Art programs. She was selected by the
Art Department to paint a mural of the Morris Canal which still hangs
in the school’s Media Library, along with a painting of an Eiffel
Tower scene in the Language Lab. As a Sophomore Marta worked
as a newspaper comic strip illustrator and became the Art Editor for
the school's Mind
Carpenter magazine. By Senior year her designs earned
the magazine an award for best layout,
presented by Columbia University’s Fine Arts Department. Recognizing their
achievements, the university in New York City invited Marta
and the staff of the Mind Carpenter magazine
to speak at a seminar hosted by the university.
In
1995 Marta began her studies at the Parsons School of Design.
She graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Fine Art & Illustration
in May of 1999. By September of that year, she had relocated to
sunny Florida and began working at Walt Disney World Resort, holding
several positions within the Entertainment Department.
In
addition to her Entertainment role at Walt Disney World, Marta has
been working as a freelance Illustrator. She has designed and painted murals
and scenes at client's homes and offices. Her wide range
of mediums, as well as her subject matter, makes her artwork
quite diverse. This includes fantasy art and character designs,
as well as realistic portraits and landscapes, large scale and small.
Her outstanding artwork
can be found in the form of wall murals, web logos, tattoos, film
credits, children's books, and CD covers.
